We fight for effective health care that improves quality of life for every individual in our community.

We’re committed to increasing awareness and access to basic and mental health care programs, reducing unnecessary ER visits by promoting preventative care services, and helping the elderly and individuals with disabilities live independent lives.

Health Programs Funded by the United Way of Southwestern Indiana:

Primary Prevention Education – Albion Fellows Bacon Center
Evidence-based curriculum aimed at preventing dating abuse and identification of unhealthy relationships.

Family Counseling Services – Catholic Charities
Individual, family and marital outpatient counseling on a sliding-scale fee basis to residents of Vanderburgh, Warrick and Spencer Counties provided by a state licensed or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Prevention Programming for Spencer County Schools – Crisis Connection
Provides sustained, evidence-informed healthy relationship school programming to students Kindergarten through 12th Grade.

Medical Rehabilitation – EasterSeals Rehabilitation Center
Clients are evaluated and together with their therapist, establish individual short and long term goals; i.e., fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and communication goals.

Prenatal & Pediatric Program – ECHO Healthcare
Clients receive assistance via direct services, educational services, counseling, and collaborative partners in the community.

Case Management Program – ECHO Healthcare
Provides clients with the necessary supplemental services to assist them with the independence needed to become compliant with their care plans and to break down barriers that compromise their quality of life and long-term health success.

Dental Services Program – Evansville Christian Life Center
Provides acute and primary family care, as well as dental care to unisured or underinsured patients.

Community Service Program – Lampion Center
Works with parents and caregivers to increase healthy behaviors and decrease the parent’s at-risk behaviors and unhealthy situations/environments, as well as those of the children and youth in their care.

Counseling Program – Lampion Center
Professional counseling for children, adults, and families who are dealing with difficulty functioning and coping due to a variety of stressors, traumas, and life transitions.

Supplemental Medication Assistance (SMP) Program – Mental Health America of Vanderburgh County
Provides emergency, short-term medication assistance to adults who have a diagnosed mental illness, have little to no income, are without insurance and have no other options for immediately obtaining prescribed psychiatric medication.

Support Groups and Community Education Program – Mental Health America Vanderburgh County
Support groups for bipolar disorder, anxiety/OCD and Survivors of Suicide for suicide grief.

Transportation Program – Spencer County Council on Aging
Provides transportation services to the elderly, disabled, veterans and Medicaid participants with their needs in mind.

Day Services Program for Adults – The Arc of Evansville
Intensive daily training to individuals with severe, profound, and multiple disabilities to increase independence and inclusion in the community.
