The United Way of Southwestern Indiana has awarded impact grants to two area non-profit organizations.
New Hope Community Development Corporation – Bridge Builders Transportation Program received an impact grant. The Bridge Builders Transportation Program is designed to prevent the lack of transportation from being an obstacle for residents seeking full-time employment.
It provides round-trip transportation to higher paying employers, where METS buses don’t go.
Catholic Charities – Handy Helpers Home Repair Training Program has also received an impact grant. Handy Helpers Home Repair Training Program is designed to give employees work and life skills to enable them to maintain stable and self-sustaining employment.
The Impact Grant was created in 2017 as a way for United Way to broaden its reach in the community and provide funding for new programs.
The two non-profits were awarded funding worth a total of $100,000.
