Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

The United Way of Southwestern Indiana values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and we also consider the importance of Belonging for marginalized people as we intend to LIVE UNITED.

We believe that every person has value and brings substantial value to our community. Their lived experiences, race, ethnicity, citizenship, nationality, socio-economic status, gender identity, gender roles, sexual orientation, age, religion, and/or diverse abilities enrich our collective community.

While acknowledging that historical barriers still exist, we intend to foster this commitment through collaboration, discussions, and ongoing training that encourages the United Way of Southwestern Indiana and its partners to be leaders in building avenues to genuinely honor the diversity that we each bring.

UWSWI Anti-Racism Statment

United Way of Southwestern Indiana unequivocally denounces racism and ethnic discrimination.

We recognize racism, ethnic discrimination, and oppression have contributed to persistent disparities  which United Way seeks to dismantle.

We understand these disparities existed in the past, persist into the present, and will continue if not addressed.

We acknowledge these inequities are the result of attitudes, policies, and practices that marginalize entire populations of people.

We strive to engage and empower community members, especially those whose voices have been or are marginalized, along with those who
serve as allies and advocates.

We work within our communities to co-create solutions that ensure everyone has the resources, support systems, opportunities, and
networks needed to thrive.

We commit to leveraging our assets, voices, talents, and influence to create more equitable communities.

MORNING FLIGHT GOLFERS: We are still on for this morning. The ECC and UWSWI staff will monitor the weather for lightning and will make a call as soon as possible. We may have a delay.
